The invention of the Castle Gear has changed the nature of warfare in the world of ROSE.
Despite the slow movement speed of its giant body, the powerful arm weapons and impenetrable steel
armor of the Castle
Gears gave reason for all factions to develop their own Castle Gear technology in fear of
being overpowered
by their rivals. An arms race in which Castle Gears were made larger and more destructive continued until
the Mana Engines which originally powered these machines could no longer supply enough energy to run
the Castle Gears. As a result, Mana Generators were developed as the new power source for these
mechanical monstrosities.
Eventually, every faction within the seven planets agreed not to use Castle Gears
for any purpose, aware
that their world is not quite ready to handle this dangerous technology.
Despite
the efforts of the factions, there are rumors of a black market in which people can actually
buy Castle Gear
parts. |

It is very difficult to create parts for a Castle Gear, since the parts require rare metals that can be very
difficult to find. These metals are infrequently dropped by monsters that inhabit particular areas.
A Castle Gear design is also required before it can be built. |
